Born in 1956 with the mission of showcasing the work of contemporary southern artists, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) continues that tradition today with an added national focus on exhibiting the work of the country’s major contemporary artists.
Since it has no permanent collection, SECCA is constant stream of activity, showcasing exhibitions of cutting edge work by contemporary artists from across the South and the nation. Monthly Saturday art making sessions paired with cartoons, concerts and other great programs make SECCA a place you'll want to visit again and again.
