One of the largest natural habitat zoos in the nation, the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro allows visitors to explore the diverse landscapes and animal of plant life of two habitats, all without ever leaving the Tar Heel State:
- The North America exhibit showcases the continent's diverse ecosystems from the polar bears and seals of the rocky arctic coasts to the cougars, alligators and snakes of cypress swamps to bison and elk
- The Africa exhibit includes gorillas, zebras, elephants and lions in forest and grassland landscapes
The Zoo also includes a number of other fun things for your family to do. Check out the Zoo's website for more information.
