The North Carolina Symphony joins with the Durham Performing Arts Center to present the best of Broadway in a one-night-only revue. The orchestra will play music from new and beloved works including Grease and Gypsy. Guest stars from the New York stage will sing numbers from hits including Broadway.com's Audience Choice Award winner Finding Neverland and the Tony®-winning revival of The King & I. North Carolina Symphony Associate Conductor David Glover will conduct.
DPAC and the Symphony have brought six guest singers to the stage for this concert: Nick Cartell, Daniella Dalli, Amy Decker, Alex Dreier, Celia Hottenstein, and Lisa Jolley.
Nick Cartell has appeared in the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera. His Broadway credits include understudying Jesus, Judas and Annas for Jesus Christ Superstar, as well as the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Scandalous. Off-Broadway, he was on the Original Cast Recording of Frankenstein; he has also appeared in numerous regional productions.
Daniella Dalli is currently on national tour with The Sound of Music directed by Jack O’Brien. Regional: Man of La Mancha (Aldonza), Les Misérables (Fantine), I Do! I Do! (Agnes), Show Boat (Julie LaVerne), Hello, Dolly! (Irene Molloy), Spamalot (Lady of the Lake), Allegro (Marjorie Taylor), A Little Night Music (Mrs. Anderssen), Sense & Sensibility the Musical (Swing).
Amy Decker has toured with The Phantom of the Opera, The Will Rogers Follies (Betty Blake, opposite Larry Gatlin), Fame! The Musical (Korean Tour). NYC: Ophelia (Ophelia), and Songs for a New World (Woman #1). Regional productions include The Sound of Music (Maria), The Game (Madame de Tourvel), White Christmas (Betty), The King and I (Anna), Barnum (Jenny Lind), Boeing Boeing (Gretchen), Oklahoma! (Laurey), Steel Magnolias (Shelby), Guys and Dolls (Sarah), and Hello Dolly (Irene). Bachelors of Music, the Manhattan School of Music.
Alex Drier has played on Broadway in Finding Neverland, Assembled Parties, and Billy Elliott. His Off-Broadway and regional credits include Finding Neverland, Appropriate, Dinner with Friends, Lies My Father Told Me, New York City Ballet, and Paper Mill. On TV, he has appeared in the Tony Awards broadcast, as well as on Unforgettable, Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight, and Royal Pains.
Celia Hottenstein appeared in the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera. Her regional theater credits include Princesses at Goodspeed Opera House and Nine at SpeakEasy Stage Company. She holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory.
Lisa Jolley performed in the Broadway company of Hairspray, as well as other productions including The King Stag (Yale Repertory Theatre), Sweeney Todd (Paper Mill Playhouse), Nunsense, Anything Goes, The King and I, The Music Man and Brigadoon. She has appeared with the North Carolina Symphony in holiday concerts and at Summerfest; she has also been seen locally in Spamalot (Cape Fear Regional Theatre); Next to Normal (Deep Dish); Les Misérables, Hairspray and The Producers (North Carolina Theatre); Souvenir, Sylvia, The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Oh, What a Night No.’s 1 and 3 (Theatre Raleigh), as well as Into the Woods (PlayMakers Repertory Company). TV roles include Banshee, Law and Order: SVU, Hope and Faith, Sex and the City and As the World Turns. She has performed improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade and other groups; her solo musical improv show, Jolley on the Spot, has had critical acclaim in NYC, LA and at the Chicago Improv Festival. She also teaches improv for the North Carolina Theatre Conservatory.

General admission lawn seating to “Broadway at the Booth” is $28 in advance, $30 at the door. Covered table seating is also available for $30 in advance, $33 at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted free for lawn seating at all UNC REX Healthcare Summerfest Series concerts.
