Discover the 1716 Bath experience with a visit to the Palmer Marsh House at Historic Bath State Historic site to start your day at Bath Fest 2016! Historic interpreters will show you early medical practices, blacksmithing and other skills of residents 300 years ago. You can even see beer brewing 18th century style. Enjoy a great a day of living history demonstrations, house tours, adorable animals and skydiving. The First Port celebration fills the evening and ends with fireworks. It's free family fun.
The Bath Fest 2016 theme salutes the early maritime history of North Carolina's first town and first port. Activities will be centered at the 100 block of South Main Street, which will be lined with arts and crafts vendors, and the 4-H Club chicken and rabbit show. Local civil groups will sell great food to fuel you through the day. For extra excitement watch Skydive Little Washington make a water landing at Bonner Point at 8 p.m.
Top that off with the First Port Celebration and dance the night away with Jim Quick and the Coastline Band. The good times will keep growing with the waters of Bath Creek as backdrop and the sounds of southern rock to move your feet. The alcohol free event begins at 6 p.m. and concludes with the grand finale fireworks display at 9 p.m.
