Children invited to learn about Palace fashions Saturday, July 11
The Tryon’s Explorers program invites children ages 6-10 to the Tryon Palace costume shop to learn about the clothing and fashions of the 18th century. The program will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11.
Children will learn about how people in the 18th century dressed and how the same types of clothes are made today. Afterward, each explorer will have the chance to color his or her own set of paper dolls.
Tryon’s Explorers is designed for individual families and space is limited to 20 children. Extra openings will be filled the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Home school groups interested in booking a tour are encouraged to contact Tryon Palace group services at 252-639-3524.
All Tryon’s Explorers programs begin at the North Carolina History Center.
