The North Carolina Zoo is doing its part to help Bring Summer Back in North Carolina! The North Carolina Departments of Health and Human Services and Natural and Cultural Resources are partnering with StarMed Healthcare and the Randolph County Health Department to host a vaccine clinic for anyone 12 and older at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro on May 20 through May 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A second clinic will be offered June 10-12.
Each participant who receives a vaccination during the Zoo’s free vaccine clinics will receive one free ticket for a future visit to the North Carolina Zoo. Advanced reservations are currently required to visit the North Carolina Zoo. Free Zoo tickets may not be used for a refund with an existing reservation. If capacity permits, free tickets can be used on day of receipt on a walk-in basis. Free tickets are valid through Dec. 31, 2021.
“What better place to Bring Summer Back than the North Carolina Zoo! Families can get the double gift of protection from COVID-19 and a free day at the zoo,” said NCDHHS Secretary Mandy K. Cohen, M.D. “Please get vaccinated so we can get back to the people and places that we love – like the zoo.”
“As partners in the Bring Summer Back campaign, the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and the North Carolina Zoo wanted to help by offering both easy access to the vaccine in a rural part of our state, and a valuable incentive for people to get vaccinated,” said Reid Wilson, secretary of the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
The event is open to the public. Appointments are available at StarMed.care and walk-ins are welcome. Visit nczoo.org/vaccine to learn more.
