Please note: As of 1/1/23 the shuttle at Pilot Mountain State Park is no longer in service.
Pilot Mountain State Park will begin shuttle service to the upper parking lot beginning Saturday, Aug. 22. The shuttle will allow more access to the popular mountain, reduce traffic in and around the park, and reduce waiting times for people visiting the mountain section.
The shuttle will run from the park’s new visitor center parking lot to the upper parking lot of the park’s mountain section from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Other vehicles will still be able to access the upper lot on all weekdays, and from 7-10 a.m. and 6-9 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
The shuttle service will cost $5 per adult for a round-trip, or $2 for a one-way trip. Children under 13 years old ride free. Visitors can purchase tickets for the shuttle on site with a credit or debit card or Apple Pay, or purchase their tickets in advance online at https://promo.parking.com/charlotte-pilot-mountain-shuttle. Cash will not be accepted.
During Phase 2 of COVID-19 restrictions, the shuttle will run at half capacity, which will accommodate 12 persons each trip. Cloth face masks will be required for all shuttle passengers, and the shuttle will be disinfected after each trip. Pets will not be allowed on the shuttle.
