Chapel Hill Musician John Santa Will Discuss N.C. Bluegrass History Dec. 4 in Raleigh

Chapel Hill musician John Santa may call himself "an accidental bluegrass musician," but he knows the roots of the music in North Carolina.
 
Santa, who says music enriched his life in so many ways, will discuss North Carolina bluegrass history during a free program presented by the N.C. Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1–2:30 p.m. at the Governor Morehead School Auditorium, Lineberry Building, 303 Ashe Ave., Raleigh. 
 
The program is free. 
 
Santa, who plays 18 instruments, has written books about bluegrass and says the music is about people, places, dogs, teachers, and how a seemingly small incident can change a life. 
 
He also is an award-winning video producer and Teacher of The Year four years in a row at Piedmont Community College. He founded the Marathon Jam for Charity (www.marathonjam.org), which benefits veterans, first responders and their families.
