Literary Fellows Slated for Public Readings Across North Carolina

The North Carolina Arts Council will offer a series of free readings across the state to spotlight the talents of literary artists who work in fiction, poetry, playwriting, screenwriting and creative non-fiction.

In partnership with local bookstores, the public readings will spotlight recipients of the N.C. Arts Council’s Artist Fellowships in the literary category.

Here are the dates and locations for the readings:  

Tuesday, Oct. 22
Quail Ridge Books
4209-100 Lassiter Mill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609
7 p.m.

Reading will be Sarah Bryan (creative non-fiction), Marianne J. Erhardt (creative non-fiction), Emilia Aynne Phillips (creative non-fiction), Susan Maryce Southard (creative non-fiction), Pamela S. Baggett (poetry) and Danielle Spratley (poetry). David Potorti, Literature Director for the N.C. Arts Council, will introduce the panel.

Monday, Nov. 4
Malaprop’s Books
55 Haywood St., Asheville, NC 28801
6 p.m.

Reading will be Jennie Maria Malboeuf (poetry), Dr. Mylene C. Dressler (fiction), Emilia Aynne Phillips (creative non-fiction), Sarah Bryan (creative non-fiction) and Marianne J. Erhardt (creative non-fiction). Laura Hope-Gill, a 2008 fellowship recipient in prose, will introduce the panel.

Sunday, Nov. 10
Scuppernong Books

Reading will be Dr. Mylene C. Dressler (fiction), Marianne J. Erhardt (creative non-fiction), Jennie Maria Malboeuf (poetry), D.M. Spratley (poetry), Paula Martinac (fiction), and Emilia Aynne Phillips (creative non-fiction). David Potorti, Literature Director for the N.C. Arts Council, will introduce the panel.

Reading will be Marianne Jay Erhardt (creative non-fiction), D.M. Spratley (poetry), Jonathan Strong (screenwriting), Emilia Aynne Phillips (creative non-fiction), Jennie Malboeuf (poetry), Paula Martinac (fiction), Susan Maryce Southard (creative non-fiction), Mylene C. Dressler (fiction) and Sarah Bryan (creative non-fiction). David Potorti, Literature Director for the N.C. Arts Council, will introduce the panel.

Two additional events are scheduled at Flyleaf Books in January 2020 and in February 2020 in conjunction with the Lenoir-Rhyne Visiting Writers Series.
