Science-based Programs for Schools Aquarium Teen Ambassadors This program at Pine Knoll Shores helps 7th-10th graders develop skills in leadership, community service, and public speaking in fun and exciting ways. Cretaceous Creatures Designed for 8th grade science teachers and students, Cretaceous Creatures participants get to do real science with real fossils. Junior Rangers This NC State Parks program gives kids the opportunity to learn about and explore North Carolina's beautiful state parks with their families or scout, school, and homeschool groups through self-led educational activities. Mobile Planetarium NCMNS Greenville and Contentnea Creek proudly offers a mobile planetarium for use by schools, clubs, camps, and community centers throughout Eastern North Carolina. Our mobile planetarium features a state-of-the-art digital projection system allowing you to skim through the rings of Saturn and travel to the stars! NCMNS Teen Programs The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences offers a variety of opportunities for middle- and high-school students. Teens are encouraged to explore our classes, camps, and volunteer opportunities to find a program that best suits their interests. Shad in the Classroom Through this project, teachers and students embark on an adventure in conservation science! Participating classrooms construct a tank, monitor water quality and raise and release tiny fry (juvenile fish) in partnership with real fisheries biologists.
