I was hired initially as the Translation Coordinator and Outreach Assistant, representing DNCR at community-organized events across the state, connecting with the Latino communities across the state, and helping lead the translation efforts across DNCR. Working with the rest of the Education & Outreach team, I help create new educational resources for all NC residents. As the Multilingual Policy Analyst, I am now more involved in projects like DNCR’s Language Access Plan and researching best practices and what other agencies and states across the country are doing. I am also a member of the Governor’s Advisory Counsil on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, where I meet with the Language Access Sub-committee quarterly.
I studied International Business at UANL in Monterrey, Mexico. My experience range from commercial real estate sales in Mexico to residential construction in the USA. I have had the opportunity to live and grow in both Mexico and the USA for extended periods of time, which have paved the way for me to be fully bilingual and bicultural, understanding and communicating effectively to both nationalities. I am passionate about the artistic expression that people have and the ability to communicate their story in an impactful and creative way. I believe that “boring” subjects can be taught in a fun and creative way.
