Governor Josh Stein announced today that six traditional artists or groups will receive the 2025 North Carolina Heritage Awards for their lifetime contributions to the state’s cultural vitality. The N.C. Heritage Award is the state’s highest honor for traditional artists.

A group of N.C. Arts Council Staff Panelists will review applications from an invite only second round of the Project Support grant category. 
The panel will be held in person in the Arts Council Conference Room, room 116.

 North Carolina’s strong literary tradition is celebrated by the 2024 North Carolina Book Awards, which will be presented Dec. 6 during the annual meeting of the N.C. Literary and Historical Association. The annual awards recognize significant works by North Carolina writers.

The North Carolina Arts Council announced today $11.5 million in grant awards for Fiscal Year 2024–25. Three hundred sixty-six grant awards will support nonprofit arts organizations, schools, after-school programs, municipalities, and artists in all 100 counties this year.
