The North Carolina Land and Water Fund Board of Trustees met October 1 and 2 to consider grant applications and make awards for projects that will protect North Carolina’s land and water from the mountains to the coast.

This meeting will be held via video conference and will have a physical location on the 4th floor of the Nature Research Center located at 121 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC in room 4508.

We will have a brief orientation session for trustees on September 18 at 1 PM. This meeting will just be for the purpose of sharing the 2024 Grant Cycle materials with trustees in preparation for the upcoming funding meeting in October. There will not be individual project review or funding decisions made at this meeting.

This meeting will be held at the William E. Ross Conference Center located on the 4th floor of the Nature Research Center, 121 W Jones St, Raleigh NC.    A virtual option will be available.

North Carolina's Natural Heritage Program proudly announces the completion of the "Classification of the Natural Communities of North Carolina," a comprehensive guidebook that serves as a definitive resource for ecologists, researchers, and conservationists.

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) announced today that it is partnering with the Town of Canton on the downtown Canton Recreation Park.

Hikers soon will be able to enjoy a new stretch of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in Johnston County.

State officials have signed an agreement with Weyerhaeuser that protects more than 1,600 acres of environmentally rich land across eastern North Carolina. The properties will be added to the N.C. Registry of Natural Heritage Areas.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Vonda Martin is the new division of parks and recreation grants and outreach manager, the division announced Friday. Martin succeeds Chris Schmidt, who has served as interim grants and outreach manager since 2018.
