Ken Howard
Ken Howard has been director of the N.C. Museum of History since 2007. He directs operations for the seven state history museums, and directly oversees management and operations for the flagship museum in Raleigh. Working with a staff of more than 100 employees, Howard is responsible for all exhibits and educational programming at the museums and for leading the management of a collection of 150,000 artifacts.
Prior to his work at the Museum of History, Howard served in executive positions at a number of companies, including A4 Health Systems in Cary, where he directed sales and operations for the Acute Care Division; as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medic Computer Systems, Inc., in Raleigh; and as an attorney for Burroughs Corp. in Detroit, Mich.
Howard holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Saint Mary’s School Board of Trustees in Raleigh, the Wake Forest University Law School Board of Visitors and serves on the Board of Directors of Westbrook Technologies.
