
Maggie Thompson
Maggie Thompson serves as the Chief Deputy Secretary. Maggie was most recently Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks at the U.S. Department of the Interior. She also served as the White House liaison for Interior Secretary Deb Haaland. In addition to her extensive work in nonprofits, advocacy, and political campaigns (including in North Carolina), she served on the White House Council on Environmental Quality and in the Office of the Director at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service during the Obama administration. Maggie holds a degree in classical archaeology and economics from Macalester College. She previously lived in Raleigh and is thrilled to be back.
